I would give ZERO stars if I could! I booked my 3-year-old's first dentist appointment online and called the office several times hoping to discuss the appointment and explain that it was her first but they never answered the phone, so I gave up and assumed they would be able to advise me when we arrived. I did at least receive a text confirmation of the date and time so we drove there today (45 min. one way) and my little 3-year-old sat in the exam chair but was too scared to lie down for her exam. She said she wanted to be able to see my face. The hygienist or assistant went to talk with the doctor and came back and said they'd have to reschedule if we couldn't get my daughter to lie down. I asked if we could do an intro appointment with her in my lap as if she were a younger new patient and was told that since my daughter "is already 3," the doctor wouldn't do that and would have to reschedule because "that's just her rule." They also suggested that I look up Youtube videos to show my daughter a dental exam. That was it! We left and won't be going back. My objective was to give my daughter a gentle first dentist appointment and get advice from the supposed professionals in pediatric dentistry on how to get her to stay still during exams and feel comfortable. Instead, they were unhelpful and completely useless. I am sure the doctor also understands that time is money. I wasted several hours today because of this practice's poor communication and I paid a babysitter to watch my younger (baby) daughter during that time. I should have been made aware of this policy beforehand but no one ever told me they don't do first appointments in the parent's lap or compromise at all on sitting positions if a child is past a certain age limit.
